Stephen has worked with small and start-up companies in the software and materials industries providing them with marketing, administrative and organizational assistance for more than 25 years. Prior to joining Greentree Partners worked with a number of companies including a group investigating new electrical generation technologies, the creation of an organization to inspect homes and commercial structures concerning potential mold concerns, and the Patient Education Institute, a provider of interactive, multimedia tutorials for the medical market, among other projects. He assisted PEI in the creation of a significant relationship with the National Institute of Health’s National Library of Medicine, and was directly responsible for obtaining CEBA funding from the State of Iowa. Stephen was a founder and executive vice president of American Matrix Technologies, a start-up company focused on the development of sprayable ceramic materials for seven years beginning in 1992. Here he was involved in the totality of corporate operations, including raising and structuring equity funds and investor relations. AMT was a pioneer in the use and popularization of these esoteric materials working not only in the US but in several foreign countries. Prior to this experience he worked with Diversified Composites, manufacturers of cultured marble gift products, and with Professional Management Systems, providers of remote batch processing computer services for the accounting industry. Stephen is a life-long resident of Iowa and is active in the local community where he is the president of the Friends of Old St. Michael’s, a non-profit group raising funds for, maintaining and improving an historic Catholic Church complex in Holbrook, Iowa that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places; and he acts as secretary for the Williamsburg Library Foundation. Hanson holds a Liberal Arts degree from the University of Iowa. |
