Dr. Stephen W. McCahon, Executive Vice President Technology, is the leading technologist for the company and has led the technical team since the company’s inception. Dr. McCahon is responsible for the development of Ionatron’s breakthrough technology. Dr. McCahon has an extensive background in optical physics, solid-state physics, ultra-short pulse lasers, and non-linear optics. In addition, he has a broad background in electrical engineering. Dr. McCahon has more than 40 scientific publications to his credit and ten issued patents with three pending. His most recent position was chief engineer of Raytheon's directed--energy weapons product line.
Previously, he was a member of the research staff at Hughes Research Laboratories in Malibu, California (now HRL Laboratories). Dr. McCahon received his BSEE and MSEE from the University of Southern California and his PhD in Electrical Engineering/Physics from the University of Iowa. |
