Stephen Wolfe joined The Toro Company in 1986 when it acquired Wheel Horse Products, Inc., a South Bend, Ind. manufacturer of lawn and garden tractors. He started with Wheel Horse in 1984 and was vice president, finance and treasurer of that firm. After the acquisition, Wolfe became director of operations and administration for Toro/Wheel Horse until 1990.
Wolfe’s extensive career with Toro includes working in several of the company’s key financial areas. In 1990 Wolfe moved to Toro headquarters in Bloomington, Minnesota and assumed responsibility for all of Toro’s credit operations when he was named president of Toro Credit Company (TCC), a subsidiary providing floor plan and inventory financing to Toro distributors and large volume dealers. He was named vice president in 1994.
In 1996, Wolfe became vice president and treasurer, The Toro Company, and president of TCC, adding responsibility for the Toro treasury function and investor relations. He was named vice president, finance, treasurer and chief financial officer of The Toro Company in May, 1997.
Wolfe received his bachelors degree in mathematics from Adrian College, in Adrian, Michigan
