Stephen M. Springer is a Managing Director and a Practice Group Leader in Major, Lindsey & Africa's Washington, D.C. office.
Before joining MLA, Stephen spent eight years as a legal recruiter with another prominent legal search firm in the Washington metropolitan area. Over the years Stephen has developed strong recruiting relationships with law firms, Fortune 500 corporations and a variety of financial services and technology companies. He handles partner, associate and in-house counsel placements at all levels, and is a member of the management team in MLA's Washington office.
Stephen received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1991, where he served as the article selection editor for the American Criminal Law Review. He graduated from Hamilton College in 1986, magna cum laude, with a degree in history.
Prior to becoming a recruiter, Stephen was an associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Jones Day. His practice focused on labor and employment litigation and counseling. Earlier in his legal career, he was a commercial litigation associate with the firm of Semmes, Bowen & Semmes in Baltimore, Maryland and in Washington, D.C. Before entering law school, Stephen was a paralegal in the New York office of Davis Polk & Wardwell and served in the Office of Independent Counsel Lawrence E. Walsh during the Iran-Contra investigation.
Stephen is a native of Washington, D.C. He resides in the Town of Somerset in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with his wife Caroline Springer, who is also a lawyer, and their three children. |
