Stephen J. Gurgovits is President and CEO of F.N.B. Corporation. He began his distinguished financial career in 1961 when he joined First National Bank as a teller. After graduating from Youngstown State University with a B.A. in Economics he continued his banking education and graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. Steve successfully completed a number of key management assignments and was elected President of First National Bank of Pennsylvania in 1988 where he served until 2004 and continues to serve as Chairman in addition to his role as President and CEO of F.N.B. Corporation.A recognized leader in economic development Gurgovits serves and has previously served on numerous educational developmental and health care institutions including Penn-Northwest Development Sharon Regional Health System and the Strimbu Memorial Fund. He is also currently serving as the Chairman for the Buhl Farm Capital Campaign and is a Buhl Trustee.
Steve’s banking involvement stretches much farther than our local community. He has just finished his term as Chairman of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association and remains on the Board of Directors. Steve is also involved in the American Bankers Council and has been elected to the American Bankers Association board of directors. He authored a book Financing Small Business" for the American Institute of Banking that was published in the late 1980s. |
