Steve focuses his practice on counseling businesses on construction litigation, professional liability and environmental disputes. Steve practiced as a civil engineer before obtaining his law degree in 1985. He represents owners, engineers, architects, specialty and general contractors, design professionals, equipment manufacturers and suppliers in a wide array of business matters. He is experienced in the drafting, negotiation and administration of contracts. He also handles bid protests, claims, litigation, arbitration, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution matters for a broad range of clients. Steve is a member of several legal and engineering professional associations, and has lectured on topics of interest to design professionals. He successfully defended an engineering firm in Lakeview Condominium v. Geotech, 144 Wn.2d 570 (2001), which upheld Washington's builders' statute of repose.
