Stephen Lynch is president of Regional Health Plans for Health Net, Inc. and president of Health Net of California and Health Net Health Plan of Oregon, both subsidiaries of Health Net, Inc. Health Net is among the nation’s largest publicly traded managed health care companies.
Mr. Lynch took the helm of the company's Western Region in February 2005. Prior to that he served as chief operating officer, Western Region since June 2004 and president of Health Net of Oregon since August 2001. Mr. Lynch is accountable for profit and loss in California and Oregon and for the effective integration of all business activities on the West Coast, including commercial, Medicare and Medicaid product lines serving more than 2.5 million members.
Mr. Lynch brings more than 15 years of health insurance industry experience to Health Net. Immediately prior to Health Net, Lynch served as vice president and general manager of PacifiCare of Oregon. Prior to PacifiCare, Mr. Lynch held positions at SelectCare Health Plans and Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon.
Mr. Lynch currently serves on the boards of several health care organizations, including the California Association of Health Plans, the Foundation for Medical Excellence, the Oregon Medical Insurance Pool, the Oregon Health Assessment Project and the Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation. Mr. Lynch also is actively involved in the community, serving as a board member of the Oregon Symphony and the Clackamas Community College Foundation, and receiving recognition for outstanding support to the Children's Cancer Association.
Mr. Lynch received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia and his master's degree from the National University of Ireland.
