Stephen D. Erf is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s Chicago office. As partner in the Labor and Employment Group, Stephen concentrates his practice in civil rights and labor/employment counseling and litigation, union organizing, collective bargaining, employment discrimination, wrongful discharge and public accommodations. He has worked with clients in a wide range of industries, including health care, education, construction, manufacturing, service, food, social service, chemical and transportation. Stephen has been recognized as a leading employment lawyer in the 2006 edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.
Stephen is a member of the bar of the State of Illinois, U.S. District Courts for the Central and Northern District of Illinois (trial bar), the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and the Western District of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
Co-author of a book on labor and employment issues arising in the health care field, Stephen has also contributed articles on such matters as disability discrimination and no fault insurance to various publications, including the Loyola Law Journal.
