Dr. Sherwin has served as Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Cell Genesys, Inc. since 1990 and as Chairman of the Board of Cell Genesys since 1994. From 1983 to 1990, Dr. Sherwin held various positions at Genentech, Inc., most recently as Vice President, Clinical Research. Prior to 1983 he was on the staff of the National Cancer Institute. Dr Sherwin currently serves as a Director of Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. and Rigel Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and is the Treasurer and a Director of the Biotechnology Industry Organization. He was also a Co-founder and former Chairman of Abgenix, Inc. Dr. Sherwin received his B.A. from Yale University and his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. |
