Professional Summary
Ms. Kaplan provides a variety of services to the firm’s general clientele. She facilitates commercial and residential real estate transactions by drafting and negotiating relevant documents and preparing for and attending closings on behalf of clients. She counsels clients on and prepares applications for alcoholic beverage licenses and permits to the State Liquor Authority. She also advises clients regarding compliance with the Alcohol Beverage Control Law. On behalf of the litigation department, she researches and drafts legal memoranda.
At Fordham University School of Law, Ms. Kaplan participated in the Fordham Law Tax Clinic, where she represented low-income taxpayers and negotiated their claims before the Internal Revenue Service. As a law student, Ms. Kaplan was specially admitted to appear before the United States Tax Court on behalf of a client in November 2006. She performed transactional tax work for her clients as well. While at Fordham, Ms. Kaplan was an associate editor of the Fordham Corporate and Financial Law Journal.
