A partner at Foley Hoag since 1987, Stefanie Cantor serves as the Chair of the firm's Trusts and Estates Department. The high regard in which she is held professionally is shown by her selection as a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and her rankings in The Best Lawyers in America and Massachusetts SuperLawyers.
Stefanie offers a wide range of individual counseling services in estate and transfer tax planning, including estate, gift, inheritance, and generation skipping tax planning, retirement planning, international tax planning and cross-border estate administration. She also provides tax counsel on estate and fiduciary tax matters, and on abatement and related tax proceedings. Clients rely on her to prepare wills, trusts and related estate planning documents, and to serve as both executor of wills and trustee of trusts. In addition, Stefanie serves as litigation counsel on will contests, contested accounting proceedings, petitions for instructions, complaints for reformation and other contested proceedings.
Other areas of focus in Stefanie's practice include serving as fiduciary counsel in estate and trust administration, and providing advice on such aspects of domestic relations as the negotiation of pre-marital agreements.
