Stacy Walton Long received her Bachelor's degree in English and Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law where she graduated with honors (cum laude). While in law school she was a member of the Black Law Student Association. She also participated in Frederick Douglas Moot Court, the American Client Counseling Competition, and was a Finalist in the American Bar Association Negotiation Competition.
Ms. Long received first-hand litigation experience in the Civil Litigation Clinic, where she received her 711 license to represent clients, as a law student, in a wide range of cases, from custody battles to landlord-tenant disputes. She has argued Motions in the Champaign County Courthouse, conducted a deposition, interviewed clients, as well as won a custody hearing. She also excelled in Trial Advocacy where she was nominated by her professor for a Rickert's Award for her excellence in Trial Advocacy.
Ms. Long was a Summer Associate with Krieg DeVault in the Summer of 2003, where she was exposed to a wide range of practice areas. As an Associate, Ms. Long focuses her practice area in creditors' rights, bankruptcy and litigation
