Sonny Cave 's professional career spans 20 years of broad legal and business experience, including working for more than 10 years within the semiconductor industry. Mr. Cave has served as General Counsel since the formation of ON Semiconductor in 1999 and was appointed Vice President and Secretary in 2000. He was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2003 and appointed Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer in 2004. Mr. Cave manages all of ON Semiconductor's legal affairs, including Intellectual Property development administration, on a global basis.
From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Cave was stationed in Geneva , Switzerland where he served as the Global Director of Contracts and Regulatory Affairs for the Semiconductor Components Group of Motorola. From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Cave was a member of Motorola's Corporate Law Department in Phoenix , Arizona , where his practice focused principally on Environmental, Health and Safety matters for Motorola's Semiconductor Products Sector (SPS).
Prior to joining Motorola, Mr. Cave was in private law practice for six years, including three years with the Streich Lang firm in Phoenix and three years with the Sherman and Howard firm in Denver , Colorado . He also served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Arizona State Court of Appeals.
Mr. Cave earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Colorado Law School. He also holds a Master of Science degree from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude , from Duke University .
