Solomon Melesse currently serves as Vice President of Hospitality Services for Truman Medical Centers. In this capacity, Mr. Melesse is charged with creating a world class service culture at the Hospital Hill and Lakewood campuses with a population of over three thousand employees. Prior to joining TMC in March 2006, Mr. Melesse served as Managing Director of Culinary Concepts LLC (a hospitality management company) and as General Manager of The American Restaurant. The American is recognized for its four stars and diamond national status in addition to being a flagship of Culinary Concepts, LLC.
Prior to joining Culinary Concepts, Mr. Melesse had over twelve (12) years of leadership experience in food and beverage industry including work at such well known hotels/restaurants as The Ritz Carlton, The Four Seasons Hotel and Morton's of Chicago restaurant group. Most notable was his team's contribution toward The Ritz Carlton Hotel winning the coveted Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award
Mr. Melesee received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston, Central Campus and an MBA from UMKC's Bloch School in 2006.
His volunteer works include service as President of Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association. In addition, Mr. Melesse currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of Harvesters (KC's largest food bank). |
