Mr. Sol Glasner is vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary of The MITRE Corporation. He oversees a varied in-house practice emphasizing intellectual property, technology transfer, government procurement, computer law, and employment law. He also serves as MITRE's chief ethics and compliance officer and is the primary liaison to the Board of Trustees, responsible for the coordination of trustee meetings and all official corporate records. He was appointed corporate secretary in April 1996. In October 1994, he became vice president and general counsel. He joined MITRE as general counsel in September 1992.
Prior to joining MITRE, Mr. Glasner served as house counsel to Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). His last position there was assistant general counsel where he had responsibility for the legal affairs of CSC's Consulting Group, headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Mr. Glasner has been active in industry and professional groups. He served on the boards of the Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association and the D.C. Computer Law Forum, and has also served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Virginia Bar Corporate Counsel Section. Mr. Glasner serves as a volunteer mediator in the District of Columbia courts. Mr. Glasner is also active in community organizations. He serves as vice president of New Hope Housing, a Northern Virginia homeless shelter. He has written and lectured widely on export control and technology law issues.
Mr. Glasner received his law degree in 1981 from Georgetown University Law Center, and his master's degree in international affairs from Columbia University in 1976. He is admitted to the bars of the District of Columbia and Virginia. |
