Smith McKeithen is responsible for Cadence's worldwide legal operations, covering matters such as intellectual property, commercial transactions, finance, mergers & acquisitions, employment, litigation and stock administration activities. He also oversees Cadence's public policy matters, such as corporate governance, regulatory compliance, government relations, export control and anti-piracy. Under his leadership, his organization deploys professionals in Asia-Pacific, Europe, Japan and North America.
A practicing attorney for over 30 years, McKeithen has served as an officer and General Counsel for a number of high technology companies in Silicon Valley, including Activision, Inc., Strategic Mapping, Inc., and Silicon Graphics, Inc. Prior to his work in corporate practice, McKeithen was with law firms in New York and San Francisco.
McKeithen served as counsel on the Impeachment Inquiry Staff of the Committee on the Judiciary of the U.S. House of Representatives in 1974. He also served two years of active duty as an artillery officer in the United States Army.
McKeithen received his undergraduate degree in English from Davidson College and his Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School. |
