Skip has always found science an intriguing and fascinating field. Since he was very young Skip always wanted to know why the weather changed so much. This led him to the University of Oklahoma to study the weather. Growing up in the snowy Boston, MA area, didn't afford Skip the "opportunity" to see the fury of severe weather. After graduating with a B.S. in meteorology from OU, he knew the south was the place for him. He worked at television stations in Tyler and Waco, Texas before moving to Shreveport in the mid 1990s to work at KSLA-TV. His next move was to WINK-TV in tropical south Florida, where tropical storms and hurricanes are king.
Skip's longing for experiencing the 4 (well maybe only 3) seasons again prompted his return to the Ark-La-Tex. He is a member of the American Meteorology Society and holds the Television Broadcasting Seal Of Approval.
Skip resides in Shreveport with his wife and 3 children. He enjoys golfing, working out and spending time with his family. However, whatever Skip is doing, he always has an eye to the sky looking for trouble, in this weather sensitive area we call home. |
