As one of the founding members of Expedia Inc. Simon Breakwell played a central role in the strategic development of Expedia.com® and was influential in the growth of the Expedia Inc. Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations. After an eight-year tenure with Expedia Breakwell currently is a member of the Expedia Inc. Board of Directors.
Breakwell most recently served as president of Expedia EMEA. In this role Breakwell first managed all overseas operations and then focused exclusively on the EMEA region building the business from scratch to become a recognized online travel company in the United Kingdom Germany France Italy and the Netherlands. Breakwell worked within the Expedia division at Microsoft before Expedia.com was an online travel provider for consumers.
Previously Breakwell spent 10 years at British Airways holding a variety of sales and senior sales management positions. During this period he managed sales strategy distribution sales technology and commercial agreements with the airline's corporate customers in the United Kingdom.
Breakwell holds an MBA from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom and an honors politics degree from Portsmouth Polytechnic. |
