Simon C. Shorter Ph.D. joined us in September 2004 as Vice President of Business Development Diagnostics Division. Prior to joining Ciphergen Dr. Shorter held a series of management positions in R&D Sales & Marketing and Business Development at Adeza Biomedical Corporation. Over a 12 year period Dr. Shorter has developed an in depth practical understanding of the clinical laboratory and IVD market segments. Simon received his Bachelor of Science degree from The King’s College University of London UK in Biological Sciences subsequently attending University College London UK where he completed a Master’s degree in Applied Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. At the University of Oxford he earned his Ph.D. in Cellular Biology and Immunology of human development followed by a Post doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of California San Francisco in the immunological basis for the survival of fetus during human placental development. |
