Current responsibility
Silvio is a principal and consulting actuary with the West Paterson, New Jersey, office of the New York Regional practice of Milliman and leads the retirement actuarial practice group in West Paterson. He was a member of the Milliman Board of Directors from May 2002 to May 2005. He is also the current chair of the Milliman Global Employee Benefits Steering Group as well as a member of the Milliman Global Board and Executive Committee. Silvio joined the firm in 1981.
Experience
Silvio's area of expertise includes ERISA funding and accounting expense requirements for qualified and nonqualified retirement programs. He is active in the redesign of retirement programs, including traditional defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, and hybrid programs such as cash balance plans. Silvio also provides advice on nonqualified supplemental retirement plans, assistance on analysis of benefits, and assessment of their impact with respect to acquisitions and divestitures.
Affiliations
Silvio was a member of the Pension Committee of the Actuarial Standards Board of the American Academy of Actuaries.
He was also chairman of the Pension Committee for the New York Actuaries Club and a member of the Society's Examination Committee.
