Sig Rogich was born on Westmann Island in Iceland and lived there with his family before moving at the age of seven to Henderson, Nevada where he spent the remainder of his formative years. From modest beginnings, Rogich has worked tirelessly on behalf of his adopted homeland and community becoming one of the leading political and corporate advisers in Nevada and the United States. Upon graduation from Las Vegas High School, Rogich earned a degree in Journalism from the University of Nevada at Reno, a natural fit for his avid interest in current events and politics. Early on in his career, Rogich worked on a number of local and state campaigns including working with the late Jim Joyce of May Advertising on the passage of school bond initiatives. His involvement with Joyce on these campaigns ultimately resulted in Rogich forming R&R Advertising in 1973. A company that eventually grew into the largest advertising and public relations firm in Nevada. Under Rogich s direction, the agency developed and created the concept of shifting Las Vegas from an adults-only vacation spot to a family-friendly destination. Today, R&R Advertising continues to handle all the advertising and media for both the Las Vegas Convention & Visitor s Authority and the Nevada State Tourism board. Rogich s foray into educational causes early in his life sparked a life-long commitment. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for the Clark County Public Education Foundation and President of the Clark County Library Foundation. Other charitable and corporate boards that Sig is involved in include the Community College of Southern Nevada Foundation, Opportunity Village and the Las Vegas Water District Advisory Board. In addition to his local accomplishments, Rogich is also well known as the political advisor who served as an Assistant to President George Bush for the creative development of public events from 1988-92. As a Presidential media advisor, he directed all of the President s videotaping and filming sessions, assisted with speech preparation and delivery for Oval Office and State of the Union addresses, handled strategic planning and execution of the President s official visits and public events and traveled extensively with the President. Furthermore, Rogich served as Director of President Ronald Reagan s Tuesday Team, Official Guide to former Soviet Premiere Mikhail Gorbachev on his nationwide tour of the United States and United States Ambassador to Iceland. Although his career path has taken him to more than 50 countries and to the four corners of the globe, Rogich continues to remain loyal to Southern Nevada s communities. Even from afar, he continued to offer his counsel and financial support to many local organizations and actively contributed to the betterment of Nevada. Today, as president of The Rogich Communications Group (RCG), a Las Vegas public relations agency, Rogich offers counsel in the areas of strategic planning and business development, crisis communication, issues management, corporate and media relations, business and community relations, political advising, and special projects. RCG maintains a diverse client list ranging from Fortune 500 companies to niche operations in the industries of gaming, entertainment, aerospace, transportation, engineering, health care and technology. Rogich s recent accomplishments include the co-conceptualization of New York-New York Hotel & Casino; assisting former President George Bush with the development and creation of two international conferences featuring world leaders from Europe, Asia and North America; assisting Nevada gaming executives with individual business development plans and serving as a political advisor to candidates in local, state and national races. To this day, Rogich continues in his effort to attract new industry and develop tourism for Nevada and its businesses. |
