A graduate of Boston University with a degree in journalism, Sidney has been in the trade magazine field since
the 1960’s serving in a variety of editorial and publishing capacities.
Early in his career he was the editor of a chain of regional apparel newspapers and became the editor of the
nation’s first discount store newspaper, MODERN RETAILER.
In the 70’s he started MUSIC RETAILER, a publication for the record industry. He later was named Group
Publisher for Larkin Publications, publishers of magazines in the women’s and children’s fashion field,
accessory and jewelry markets as well as the music products industry.
He has been elected to Kappa Tau Alpha (the journalism equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa) is a member of the
Board of Visitors at Berklee College of Music and was the 2002 recipient of the American Music Conference
Henry Grossman Lifetime Director Award. He is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in America.
Sidney and his wife, Marlene, have two daughters, Lynne and Susan and two grandchildren , Jeffrey and
Victoria. |
