Sherry A. Kellett is a director of MidCountry, where she serves on the Audit Committee and the Compensation Committee. She is recently retired from BB&T Corporation in Winston-Salem, where she served as Corporate Controller from 1995 until 2003. Ms. Kellett was the Corporate Controller for Southern National Corporation from 1991 until 1995 when it merged with BB&T Corporation. Prior to joining Southern National Corporation in 1984, Ms. Kellett served in several positions at Arthur Andersen & Co. Throughout her career, Ms. Kellett has been active in numerous civic and professional organizations. She currently serves as a member of the Audit Committee and a Board Member for Highwoods Properties, Inc. She also serves on the Audit and Corporate Governance Committees for Medical Properties Trust, Inc. a Birmingham, Alabama based company. She is a member of the North Carolina Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Ms. Kellett has served as a board member of Senior Services, Inc., The Winston-Salem Foundation, Piedmont Club, and The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem. She has also served as the President, Treasurer and Secretary of the Piedmont Kiwanis Club and as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as, formerly serving as Treasurer and Board Member for the North Carolina School of the Arts Foundation and the North Carolina Center for Character Education. Ms. Kellett graduated from Duke University, Magna cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. in Chemistry. |
