Chaplain Sherrill Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma July 7, 1946. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts Degree from Point Loma Nazarene University (formerly Pasadena College), San Diego, California. He earned a Masters of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Missouri and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Boston University. He was ordained in 1975. Prior to his entry to active duty, CH Munn was Senior Pastor of a United Church of Christ and was an Instructor at Eastern Nazarene College, both in Massachusetts. He then became Professor of Biblical Studies at Northwest Nazarene College in Idaho. CH Munn was commissioned a United States Army Chaplain in 1979 and served with the Idaho National Guard as a battalion chaplain until his entry upon active duty October, 1983. He served as Chaplain for 2nd Cannon Training Battalion and 3-9 Field Artillery Battalion (Pershing), Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He then served as Battalion Chaplain in the 498th Forward Support Battalion, 2nd Armored Division (Forward), Garlstedt, Germany. Upon his return from Germany, he attended the Chaplain Career Course, Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, and then served as Brigade Chaplain 5th DISCOM and Assistant Division Chaplain for 5th Infantry Division and 2nd Armored Division, Fort Polk, Louisiana. Following Fort Polk, CH Munn attended Command and General Staff College (CGSC), Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. After CGSC, he served as Deputy MACOM Chaplain for Army Materiel Command (AMC), Alexandria, Virginia where he established and managed the very first Army Chaplain Corps materiel development program. From AMC he went to Korea as the Deputy Eighth Army and United States Forces Korea Chaplain. From Korea, he was assigned to Germany as the 6th Area Support Group Chaplain then served as the IMA-EURO Region Chaplain. He joined the USACE team on 21 December 2005. CH Munn is also a graduate of the Intermediate Acquisition Course and the United States Air Force Air War College. His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (with oak leaf cluster), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal(with two oak leaf clusters), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (with oak leaf cluster), U.S Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism, Korea Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Ribbon (2).
