Sherrill Jackson, MHSA, BSN, CPNP, RN, Florissant, MO is the Assistant Director of Medical Affairs for Grace Hill Neighborhood Health Centers in St. Louis, MO. For nearly four decades Ms Jackson has assumed a variety of professional nursing roles including direct hospital care, public health nurse, and Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP). In 1996, Ms Jackson founded the Breakfast Club; a community based non-profit dedicated to providing outreach, education and support services to minority and poor women at risk for breast cancer or who live as breast cancer survivors. Ms. Jackson and the Breakfast Club have received numerous local and national awards for their work. Ms. Jackson currently serves as Board member of the St. Louis Affiliate and the national Sister Study. In 2003 Ms. Jackson was named one of Yoplait's national champions for her fight against breast cancer. In 2005 she received the Community Leadership Award for contributions in reducing Cancer Disparities from the Siteman Cancer Center and the Mary McLeod Distinguished Service Award given through the Bertha Black Rhoda Section of the National Council of Negro Women Inc. |
