Ms. Farrell is a litigator with diverse experience in civil litigation. She concentrates her practice in the areas of mass tort and toxic tort litigation. Her experience includes defending Fortune 100 companies in high risk litigation. She also has substantial experience in coordinating and providing discovery strategies for companies involved in multi-district litigation and mass claims. Her additional experience includes national coordination and preparation of experts in mass tort cases. She also serves as a national coordinator for experts in mass tort cases.
Ms. Farrell is national discovery counsel for a Fortune 25 defendant in asbestos litigation. She also serves as national discovery counsel in other toxic tort litigation. In addition to her roles as national counsel, her experience also includes general business litigation and other business dispute matters. Ms. Farrell has represented individuals and corporations in a wide variety of matters in both state and federal courts. She speaks several times a year on topics such as managing business risks and the role of media in high-stakes product litigation. She also has spoken at the ABA Women in Transportation and Emerging Issues in Motor Vehicle Product Liability seminars on the role of national coordinator counsel and on the relationship between in-house and outside counsel.
In addition to commercial litigation experience, Ms. Farrell has extensive experience in the areas of creditors' rights, corporate debt restructuring, commercial law and as debtors' and creditors' counsel in Chapter 7 and 11 proceedings. She also provides clients counsel on public relations and political communications.
Prior to her law career, Ms. Farrell was a public relations practitioner with the City of Detroit. She also worked as a journalist and columnist at an area newspaper.
While in law school, Ms. Farrell was a member of the Moot Court Team and Law Review. In 1995, she won first place honors during the National Moot Court Competition for both oral advocacy and brief writing.
