Shemin counsels clients regarding the applicability of federal laws to the provision of natural gas and oil services as well as the operation and management of energy assets. She has represented major energy companies, including natural gas pipelines and energy marketing and trading companies in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on natural gas matters including complaint proceedings and represented natural gas pipelines before the federal courts. She also has represented and counseled clients in numerous rate, restructuring, tariff and certificate natural gas and electric proceedings before the FERC. Shemin has advised clients seeking to construct liquefied natural gas receiving facilities and counseled energy companies on natural gas matters arising from bankruptcy. Shemin also advises clients regarding various transactional matters and has experience in the antitrust area.
