Shelley Stewart Jr. is senior vice president of operational excellence and chief procurement officer at Tyco. He is responsible for leading the company fs Six Sigma/lean information technology strategic sourcing real estate/facilities and working capital initiatives. Prior to his promotion in January 2006 Stewart served as vice president of supply chain management. Previously Stewart was senior vice president of supply chain management at Invensys plc headquartered in London. In this position he provided leadership for the strategic sourcing of $4.6 billion in goods and services as well as having overall responsibility for lean operational excellence. Before Invensys Stewart was vice president of supply chain management with the Raytheon Company joining it after 18 years with United Technologies Corporation where he held numerous senior level supply chain and operational positions. Stewart is currently a member of the Conference Board fs Purchasing and Supply Leadership Council and serves on the visiting Board of Directors at Howard University fs School of Business as well as being chairman of Howard fs Supply Chain Advisory Board and a member of Purchasing magazine fs editorial advisory board. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Institute of Supply Management. Stewart holds a Masters degree in business administration from the University of New Haven and both a Bachelors and Masters degree from Northeastern University.
