Ms. Sheila A. McCarthy is a Managing Scientist in Exponent’s Health Sciences practice. She is experienced in the fields of risk assessment and industrial hygiene. Ms. McCarthy has conducted and supported human health risk assessments involving potential occupational and environmental exposures to pesticides metals organic and inorganic compounds. Her experience includes quantitative exposure assessment in support of site-specific risk assessments and analysis of environmental monitoring data.
As an industrial hygienist Ms. McCarthy has developed and implemented sampling methodologies for both occupational and environmental settings. In these settings she has monitored and evaluated a number of agents including metals particulate matter volatile organic compounds bioareosols and noise. Her work has also included assessments of indoor air quality within Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs). She has developed exposure monitoring protocols for potential exposure to chemicals used in water treatment facilities and sampling and analysis plans for specific site assessments. |
