Sharon Thompson joined Thermage in January 2008 as Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs and brings 25 years experience in the medical device industry. Most recently Ms. Thompson was the World Wide Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs at LifeScan Inc. a diabetes management company. Prior to LifeScan she was the Executive Director of Quality and Regulatory Compliance for Biosense Webster a developer and manufacturer of electrophysiology diagnostic and therapeutic devices. Both LifeScan and Biosense Webster are Johnson & Johnson operating companies. Ms. Thompson was previously Vice President of Quality Regulatory and Clinical Affairs at certain Sorin Group companies; Sorin Biomedical Inc. and COBE Cardiovascular Inc. The Sorin Group is based in Milan Italy. Both companies design and manufacture open heart surgery products. Ms. Thompson began her medical industry career in 1983 at McGaw Inc a former division of American Hospital Supply and held technical and managerial positions in Chemistry Regulatory and at the Biological Test Center (BTC) managing device and pharmaceutical toxicology studies. Ms. Thompson is a former President of the Orange County Regulatory Affairs Discussion Group (a non profit educational organization based in Southern CA) and was on the Board of Directors for three years. She obtained her B.S. degree in Biology/Pre-Med at the State University of New York @ Albany and continued her graduate studies at St. Andrews University in Scotland. |
