Sharon Tan is an associate in the firm of McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP, based in its London office. She is a member of the Employment Group, where her practice focuses on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law.
Sharon has considerable experience of dealing with the employment aspects of large multi-jurisdictional transactions and restructurings. Her experience includes advising clients in relation to joint ventures, outsourcings and mergers and acquisitions.
Sharon also has extensive litigation experience in the Employment Tribunal, where she does her own advocacy, the Employment Appeal Tribunal, the High Court and the Court of Appeal. She has also negotiated numerous employment related settlements and has experience of conducting mediations.
In addition, Sharon's practice focuses on the whole spectrum of day-to-day practical advice aimed at the commercial needs of the client. Sharon regularly advises clients on their in-house employment matters, including executive appointments and terminations, employee grievances and redundancies. Sharon is also experienced in drafting employment related documentation such as service agreements and employee handbooks.
Sharon frequently provides seminars on many employment law issues.
Prior to joining the Firm, Sharon trained and qualified as a solicitor at another international law firm. She has also spent time on secondment to the in-house legal team of a large investment bank where she advised on all aspects of employment law.
