Sharon R. Cooper is senior vice president and director of communication with oversight of the company's communication strategy including responsibility for all employee financial agent and media communications.
Ms. Cooper was promoted to senior vice president in 2003. Before joining Selective in 2000 as vice president and director of communication Ms. Cooper was director of media relations for The Allstate Corporation in Northbrook IL. In that position she had responsibility for a broad spectrum of Allstate's media relations strategy and implementation as well as working with Investor Relations and Government Affairs on company branding and imaging issues. Prior to that she was corporate relations manager for Allstate Insurance Co. in Irving TX. Before joining Allstate she was executive director for the Insurance News Service in Columbia SC. and a news reporter anchor and producer at TV stations in Texas and Georgia.
Ms. Cooper received a B.A. in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois and also holds the CPCU designation.
