As a member of the firm's Intellectual Property practice, Dr. Sharon Walker focuses her practice on preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the chemical and biotechnology area. She also conducts research related to litigation, intellectual property due diligence, freedom-to-operate opinions, and patentability analyses.
Sharon has held research positions at both academic institutions and in private industry. Prior to joining Foley Hoag, Sharon was a Technology Specialist at Lahive & Cockfield, and a research scientist at MIT in the laboratory of Professor Daniel S. Kemp, where her research focused on peptide chemistry, amino acid helix propensity and protein folding.
She was also a Senior Scientist in Peptide Chemistry at Dyax Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Sharon also held research positions at Applied Biosystems in Foster City, California and La Jolla Pharmaceutical in San Diego.
