Sharon Baker Morin is executive vice president and responsible for the overall strategy and governance of the State Street Trust and Banking business in Japan. Prior to this, Ms. Morin was chief compliance officer of State Street and responsible for the design, implementation and oversight of policies, guidelines and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations wherever State Street conducts business worldwide.
Ms. Morin joined State Street in January 1993 as a managing attorney in the Legal Division and, prior to assuming the role of chief compliance officer in March 2005, was an Associate General Counsel managing the legal teams that support the Investor Services businesses globally.
Prior to joining State Street, Ms. Morin was an attorney in private practice in Boston and Tokyo for over 15 years where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions and securities law matters.
Ms. Morin received her Bachelor of Arts degree with highest distinction and her Master of Arts degree from The University of Iowa. She received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
