Sharon A. McIlnay is vice president and general counsel of CMS Enterprises. She was elected to the position in 2006. Before being named to her current position, McIlnay was vice president and general counsel of CMS Gas Transmission, a post she was elected to in 1999. Previously, she was chief counsel of Northern Americas Development for CMS Energy, with responsibility for managing all legal work supporting the company’s energy development activities in a region which includes Central America, Venezuela, Mexico, the United States and Canada. She has represented CMS Energy as lead attorney on its $2.2 billion acquisition of Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Co., Trunkline Gas Co. and Trunkline LNG Co. from Duke Energy. McIlnay joined CMS Energy in 1992.
McIlnay earned a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree in business administration and juris doctor degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where she was the managing editor of the Nebraska Law Review. |
