Shane Harrod - Network Support Manager
Shane had an interest in computers at a very young age. At the age of 4 he received a commodore 64 that caught his attention and never let go. As Shane grew older, his grandfather would give him retired company computers for him to tinker with. This gave Shane a working knowledge of MS-DOS and hardware before he was a teenager. As he grew older, his enthusiasm for technology and computers developed into opportunities at his school where he volunteered time to his school to help fix computer problems and increase his working computer knowledge. As Shane entered into High School in 1998, relationships that he had developed gave him an opportunity to work on grant proposal's with his school Board of Education and teachers, which resulted in a grant that brought a T-1 Connection and the networking of four of the school's buildings and brought technology into the classroom in ways not widely utilized at the time. As Shane was finishing high school, he found an opportunity within his community to get his feet wet in a professional capacity by working for a local internet service provider. Here, Shane gained experience in dealing with troubleshooting problems over a phone and a greater understanding of network technology. In 2002, Shane moved to Louisville after graduating from high school to attend Sullivan University. While attending Sullivan, Shane secured a position with another local internet service provider due to his previous experience and also gained work experience dealing with high-speed internet connections. Shane received an Associates of Science in Information Technology. During his time at Sullivan he met Richard Fox, who taught his Microsoft Courses. This relationship developed into some job opportunities working for Richard that resulted into a helpdesk position. Shane was the first member of RFX's helpdesk and has helped develop the helpdesk using Microsoft CRM as Helpdesk Manager. Shane is also a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and is continuing certification toward Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). Shane attends the University of Louisville where he is pursing a Bachelor's degree in Management. Shane was wed in July, 2006 to his lovely wife Erica who is also completing her Bachelor's of Nursing. In his free time, Shane is actively involved with his local church and is an avid fresh/saltwater aquarist. Shane looks forward to seeing the company continue to grow and provide excellent service for its customers. |
