Shahar Harel joined Kenyon & Kenyon as a summer associate in 2006 and returned as an associate in 2007.
Since joining the firm Mr. Harel has worked in the areas of patent litigation, prosecution in the electro-mechanical field, as well as on trademark matters.
Prior to law school, Mr. Harel was a doctoral candidate in computer science at Harvard University where he researched network protocols and differentiated services for the Internet. While in school Mr. Harel held research positions at the Weizmann Institute in Israel, NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory in areas covering signal processing and high speed communication networks. Mr. Harel also worked for a profitable high tech start-up developing software in the fields of network management and J2EE application management.
While in law school Mr. Harel received the NY State Bar Association Law Student Legal Ethics award for his paper "Who Can I Talk To Around Here? The Extent of Waiver of Attorney-Client Privilege in Patent Lawsuits." He also assisted the chief defense counsel in the criminal trial of John Gotti, Jr. and his pro bono work included representing battered women seeking protective orders. |
