In 1976, at the age of 26, Serge Godin founded a two-person computer consulting and management company in Quebec City: CGI. Under Serge’s leadership, CGI has grown to be among the largest independent information technology and business process services firms in North America, employing 25,000 professionals. Throughout his career, Serge Godin has remained very involved in various endeavors that further the economic development of Montreal, Quebec and Canada including being president of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. In 1996, he received a special distinction from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, in appreciation for his lifetime professional and business achievements as well as his personal involvement in social issues. Serge has been awarded two honorary Doctor degrees - a Law degree from Concordia University and a Doctor of Management degree from Université Laval. Most recently, he joined the University of Waterloo’s board of governors. Year after year, Mr. Godin continues to participate in many charitable and community organizations. |
