Description of Practice:
Sean Southard is a partner in the firm's San Diego office. His general real estate practice concentrates on representing highly sophisticated institutional investors, developers and entrepreneurial individuals in the acquisition, development, leasing and sale of retail, office and mixed-use projects throughout the western United States. During the past ten years, Mr. Southard has successfully completed major leasing transactions totaling more than 5,000,000 square feet of commercial space. Mr. Southard also has extensive experience in the negotiation and documentation of purchase and sale transactions, sale-lease back transactions, development agreements, property management agreements and all other types of agreements relating to the use of real property.
Mr. Southard is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California. As a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Mr. Southard serves on the planning committee of the organization's San Diego chapter. He is also a frequent lecturer at various legal educational seminars and regular speaker at real estate industry trade group conferences and programs.
Educational History:
Mr. Southard completed his preparatory education at the University of San Diego graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1990. Mr. Southard then served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy until 1994. In 1997, he was awarded his Juris Doctor by Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. At Loyola, Mr. Southard was a member of the Loyola of Los Angeles International & Comparative Law Journal and Scott Moot Court Honors Board. |
