Sean Connolly is the Senior Partner in our London office. He advises clients on insurance and reinsurance matters, particularly those involving professional indemnity, financial institutions, product liability and insurance market disputes. He has been lauded for his seriously high quality work and has been described as a lawyer who has one of the best reputations in the market (Legal 500 UK 2006/2005). Sean’s clients include major domestic and overseas insurance and reinsurance companies, Lloyd’s syndicates and their representatives, insurance brokers and other intermediaries and he acts on both contentious and non-contentious matters as well as the full range of alternative dispute resolution techniques.
He advises these and other clients on professional indemnity disputes in areas including accountancy, legal, chartered surveying, investment banking, property management, insurance and reinsurance brokers and design consultancies. On the non-contentious side, he counsels clients on a variety of risk assessment and prevention issues.
Much of Sean’s work involves offshore investment companies and he also acts for insurers on matters involving investment banks, trust companies, stockbrokers and other financial institutions. He coordinates often multi-jurisdictional insurer investigations and litigation, and has considerable experience providing guidance on the obligations of fiduciaries, company directors and trustees. Sean acts in a wide range of cases for both insurers and reinsurers, including claims involving motor manufacturers, the iron and steel industry, electrical products, heavy plant engineering, paints, pharmaceuticals and health products.
