Scott Woodward just completed his third season as a full-time member of the Colorado Avalanche training staff.
A certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Scott is familiar with the Avalanche organization and its players, having worked as a consultant with the team for injury management and rehabilitation dating back to the 1998-99 season. He became a regular in the Pepsi Center training room beginning in the fall of 2000, assisting the Avalanche training staff with game coverage and injury prevention and management.
Prior to his involvement with hockey, Scott served as the program coordinator with the HealthOne/Denver Broncos Sports Medicine office. He was a rehab consultant with the Broncos from 1992-2000 and assisted the training staff during training camp, practices, and game days.
Scott began his formal education at Colorado State University before graduating magna cum laude from the University of Denver in 1985 with a B.A. in Sports Sciences. He received his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 1990. Before working in professional sports, Scott worked in hockey with the Indianapolis Junior Ice (Junior A) squad and was as the head athletic trainer at Lakewood and Littleton High Schools.
