Scott Summerville is President, Rockwell Automation in Asia Pacific, a role he has held since June 2003. With over nine years of Asia experience, Summerville has a deep understanding of the region and its industries. He has overall responsibility for the company’s commercial and sales operations in the region, which consists of Australia, Greater China, India, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia.
Prior to his current position, he was Managing Director of Rockwell Automation Greater China and was stationed in Beijing. During his three years in this role he led the company in significantly growing its business and presence across key vertical industry segments vital to China’s development. He was widely recognized for his team-building and strategic approach to the company’s China business.
Since being posted to Hong Kong in 1997, Summerville has held a number of management positions in Rockwell Automation, including roles that put him in charge of infrastructure industry and overall market development.
Summerville joined Rockwell Automation in 1989, working in the company's Government Business Division after ten years of sales and marketing experience at Murata Manufacturing. He was the chairman of the Integrated Systems and Controls Council of the Material Handling Industry of America from 1995-1997.
Summerville has a Master's Degree in Management from the Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design from Miami University.
Summerville is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and was presented with the China Automation Association (CAA) inaugural Outstanding Contribution Award in 2006. |
