Scott Stouffer was appointed Chief Executive Officer in June 2004. With more than 20 years of entrepreneurial experience in high technology markets, Stouffer has a unique understanding of the processes involved with introducing the Optinuity products to market and building a world-class sales organization. As CEO, Stouffer is responsible for developing and executing the company's broader business strategy, defining target markets, leading the sales organization and forging relationships with investors, partners, and customers.
Stouffer recently served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Visual Networks, Inc., which he founded in 1993. Under Stouffer's leadership, this leading provider of performance management systems for wide-area data networks grew to more than $100 million in annual revenue and a market capitalization approaching $3 billion. As President and CEO, Stouffer raised four rounds of institutional venture financing, all at significant valuation increases. He led the company's initial public offering (IPO) in February 1998, one of the top 10 public offerings of that year.
Before founding Visual Networks, Inc., Stouffer served three years as Director of Marketing for Telecommunications Techniques Corp. (now Acterna), a communications test and measurement company. Prior to assuming that role, Stouffer held a number of progressively responsible product management and marketing roles at Timeplex, Inc., the leading provider of networking T-1 multiplexers. Early in his career, Stouffer held a number of engineering, sales, and marketing roles in the semiconductor industry.
Stouffer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU. |
