Scott Nagel is the Vice President and Managing Director for LexisNexis Discovery Services. In this role, Mr. Nagel is responsible for overseeing strategic planning and all operations related to the company's line of products and services associated with discovery, including Applied Discovery and Concordance. Mr. Nagel has held positions of increasing responsibility with the company since 2000, and previously served as General Manager for LexisNexis Applied Discovery. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Nagel's work has focused on providing industry-leading products and the highest standards of client service to attorneys and other legal professionals involved in electronic discovery.
In his role as Managing Director for LexisNexis Discovery Services, Mr. Nagel also oversees the group's partnership and alliance programs as well as its client advisory board initiatives. Designed as a mechanism for obtaining continuous industry input and feedback, the advisory board programs include individual groups dedicated specifically to law firm litigators, corporate counsel, and attorneys involved in mergers & acquisitions. The company has also launched an initiative involving some of the top Litigation Support Managers in the nation as part of the overall plan for continuously improving the development and integration of its industry-leading products. Through these innovative groups, LexisNexis Discovery Services gathers market research and client opinion data related to the use of discovery technologies, as well as the overall trends in practice related to discovery. These insights enable the company to continually re-evaluate and revise its strategy to ensure that client needs are met in the best, most efficient manner possible.
Prior to joining Applied Discovery, Mr. Nagel was a senior attorney in the Seattle office of Bullivant Houser Bailey LLP, where his practice focused on products liability litigation and general commercial litigation. His work has included representation of multi-national manufacturers of heavy equipment and vehicle tires in litigation. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Nagel held several management positions with international retailer Eddie Bauer, a company known for its innovative approaches to providing complete customer satisfaction.
Mr. Nagel is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, Washington Defense Trial Lawyers and the Defense Research Institute. His education includes a B.A. from the University of Washington in Political Science and a J.D. from the Seattle University School of Law, magna cum laude.
Mr. Nagel has been a frequent speaker and author on the topic of e-discovery. He has served as a faculty member at numerous national and regional programs since 2000 and has contributed to various legal and business publications on the topic of electronic discovery and records management issues. |
