Scott Dawson brings over 10 years of experience specializing in the handling of steel products and steel cargo claims. He was previously a marine surveyor with a national marine surveying firm that specialized in catering to the steel import business. In addition to developing an expertise in steel cargo claims, he also was responsible for the development of the company's technical direction including business aspects of database development, computer integration and ultimately a presence onto the world wide web. Mr. Dawson also worked for a period as Operations Manager for a large international steel trading company which allowed him intimate working knowledge of the daily necessities of large steel trading companies.. After recognizing the opportunity to assist steel import trading companies in lowering their insurance premiums by reducing their claims through the power of information on the internet and competitive online auctions, Scott Dawson founded SteelSalvor in 2000. Scott received his Bachelor of Science from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and has served as an officer in the United States Naval Reserve. He volunteers in his free time with Houston area youth groups.
