Scott E. Calder is President, CEO, and a co-founder of Mainstream Data, Inc., where he is responsible for strategic direction and the day-to-day management of the Salt Lake City-based communications company. Mainstream provides the world’s premier information companies, including Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC ComStock, and the European PressPhoto Agency, with turnkey satellite and Internet communications services. Mr. Calder served as Vice President of Marketing at Bonneville Telecommunications Company, a satellite video and data communications firm, prior to founding Mainstream in 1985. Before he joined Bonneville in 1982, Mr. Calder spent three years as a senior consultant at Bain and Company, a global corporate-strategy consulting firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Calder holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in American Literature and Economics from the University of Utah and earned an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business in 1980.Mr. Calder is a recognized authority on the confluence of information, technology, and software, and speaks at trade shows and industry conferences where he focuses on satellite communications, rapidly evolving information technology, and software applications that are shaping our information-centric world. Mr. Calder is the father of five children, and enjoys skiing, mountaineering, personal computing, and performing community service. |
