W. Scott Hanle is president West and Independent for Idearc Inc. (NYSE: IAR)
Idearc connects buyers with sellers when buyers are ready to buy. Idearc's multi-platform of products includes Verizon Yellow Pages and smaller-sized portable Verizon Yellow Pages Companion Directories, Superpages.com (www.superpages.com), Superpages Mobile, Solutions At Hand and Solutions Direct direct mail packages.
Hanle is responsible for ensuring that Idearc provides customers in the western United States and independent markets nationwide with effective yellow pages advertising solutions, tailored to their specific needs. He oversees sales and sales operations, finance, compliance, human resources and marketing within these areas.
Hanle previously was area president for Verizon Information Services. Before that, he served as group president International and was responsible for the company's operations and business development outside the United States in North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
Prior to that, Hanle was vice president finance for GTE Information Services, a position he held since February 1992. He joined GTE in 1974 as an associate in the financial associate development program. He held increasingly responsible finance and regulatory positions for GTE Southeast, GTE Illinois and GTE's combined Illinois/Wisconsin operations.
In 1982 he was named group manager results and analysis for GTE Service Corp. He became controller for GTE Southwest in 1983, vice president - revenue requirements in 1986 and vice president finance in 1987. He was named vice president finance for the GTE Telephone Operations Central Area in 1988.
Hanle earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. |
