Scott T. Springer is Product Leader - Audience Measurement for The Nielsen Company's Media Product Leadership organization. Scott reports to James O'Hara, President, Media Product Leadership, and is based in Oldsmar, Florida.
In this role, Scott leads Nielsen's efforts to enhance current services and develop new offerings across National and Local audience measurement services. He also continues to lead the Anytime Anywhere Media Measurement (A2/M2) efforts - Nielsen's commitment to measure viewing of all forms of video content, whether in or out of the home, on the Internet, or across an expanding array of portable devices.
Prior to this role, Scott served as General Manager - Operations with responsibility for Nielsen's overall operations, including Information Technology, Field Operations, Call Centers, and other key operations services.
Scott joined Nielsen Media Research in 1993 as Director of Program Management, where he supervised a staff coordinating the implementation of several cross-company initiatives. He then served as Director, and later as Vice President, in the Engineering & Technology department, where he was instrumental in the early development of major new metering technology initiatives, including the Active/Passive (A/P) Meter and the Media Monitoring Site (MMS). Following that, he directed the business analysis, planning and launch of people meter service to local markets, one of the company's largest strategic projects ever implemented. Prior to his role as General Manager - Operations, Scott served as co-General Manager of Nielsen Media Research's National Business Unit, where he was responsible for product management, software development and production in support of National services.
Before joining Nielsen, Scott worked for several years in operations and strategic planning in the textile industry, including serving as the plant manager of a large factory. He started his career as a Navigator and Electronic Warfare Officer in the United States Air Force.
Scott holds a BSc in Management from Louisiana State University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. |
