Mr. Scott Shock is a Managing Engineer in Exponent’s Environmental Sciences practice. He has over 13 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering. His diverse project experience includes site investigation and characterization contaminant transport and fate human health and ecological risk assessments soil and groundwater remediation modeling regulatory oversight and negotiations water quality management and water resource development cost allocation litigation support and insurance industry support. His current emphases include feasibility studies and evaluations cost analysis uncertainty analysis and uncertainty reduction decision analysis mining impacts evaluation and risk management.
Mr. Shock has developed managed and participated in numerous field investigations characterizing the nature and extent of soil groundwater and sediment contamination with a wide variety of contaminants in various environments. He is skilled in data interpretation and evaluation development of effective conceptual site models evaluation of contaminant transport and fate and natural attenuation modeling. Mr. Shock is experienced in the assessment of environmental impacts associated with mining particularly in sensitive arctic tundra habitats. He has a particular interest in the development of proactive and preventative risk management strategies designed to minimize the environmental impacts of mining. |
