Richardson is a South Carolina senator serving on a number of standing committees, including Judiciary and Banking and Insurance. Prior to his election to the Senate in 2000, he was a member of the SC House of Representatives for four years. An honor graduate of the University of Tennessee, he is a licensed insurance professional, CPCU designee and a former principal of Carswell of Carolina Insurance Inc. A lifelong resident of the Lowcountry and respected business professional, Richardson has been involved in numerous community organizations, including the Better Business Bureau of the Coastal Empire, the Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head, the Hilton Head Orchestra, the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina and the Heritage Classic Foundation. |
